Title: Requires Periodic Tightening But Overall Great
Review: I have a 2020 Mazda CX5 GT. This item ships in a box with three components, a base, a ball/collar that fits/screws on the base and the phone holder. Remove the base from the box, unscrew the collar and fit the ball into the base, put the collar back on and mount the holder. The whole thing snaps into the dash without any marring/scratching I could observe. The emergency flasher button was easily accessible through a cutout in the base. There was no interference with the Mazda Connect screen or the dash vents. The Connect screen was still easily viewable and accessible. You can adjust the view of the phone in the mount by loosening the collar and tightening. My Moto G6 fit fine in the mount. However, you have to be aware of the thickness of your phone with case. While my phone fit perfectly, larger models may not. When you seat the phone in the bottom of the mount the two “Y” arms on the sides close to gently hold the upper body of the phone. Again, a larger model phone may have an issue with that system. You can also easily keep the phone charged by using the power outlet in the storage tray and running a cable up to the bottom of the phone, if your phone has the power receptacle at the bottom. The only minor complaint I have is that extremely rough street conditions can cause the mount collar to loosen and then the view of the phone “flops” down. When I get in the car and place the phone in the holder, I take a second to “snug up” the collar. Most of the time that is not required. The beauty of the mounting system is that voice commands to the phone (Android) work flawlessly without the hyper sensitivity of Android Auto. To recap my rating, there is no “suction” with this mount, it snaps on to the dash, and there is only one way to fit it on so that is easy and merits a five star rating. For my phone. thickness is not an issue, therefore my 5 star rating, but others may need to mind this issue carefully. Finally, for “sheerness”, whatever that may be, there is no obstruction of visibility or functionality of anything, including air flow from the vents. It took a lot of research to find this item and determine how it works but in the month or so I’ve had it, it’s been great. Now, all I have to hope for is that my next phone approximates the same dimensions.

Review: This is exactly what I was looking for! It looks like it came with the vehicle, blending in seamlessly. The height and location are perfect, and the ball joint strikes the right balance – it’s sturdy enough to hold its position but still easy to adjust without hassle.The only downside, which isn’t a fault of the product itself, is that my phone grip is MagSafe, and the magnets are so strong that removing my phone from the mount takes A LOT more effort than I’d like. Because of this, I may need to return it and opt for a holder-style mount instead.That said, if you’re considering this version, I’d say it’s an absolutely perfect solution!

Title: Magnet is simply too weak.
Review: I was really hoping for a great experience with this one but the magnet strength is simply weak. I have another magnet type that fits in my vent in another vehicle that blows this one away with the strength and that’s without adding any piece of metal that this kit comes with. The design of how it fits between the vents is the best I’ve ever seen and I’m very happy with that part of it but if the magnet doesn’t hold the phone then what’s the point. They give you two pieces of metal you can tape to the back of your phone or inside the case but it’s not enough and before you blame my case just remember it works great with my other magnet holder without having to add another piece of metal. The other downside is now my phone won’t charge on my charging stand so now I have to plug my phone in to charge it. All because of the addition of the metal plate inside my case. I should have gotten the clip kind but the magnet type looked so clean when the phone is not being held. I already threw away the packaging so I guess returning is not an option. I was so hoping that this would work because the design of how it fits on the car is the best I’ve seen but then they totally cheap out in the magnet strength. If not for my phone dropping while driving then this would have been a five star review.

Title: I had to modify it
Review: I love the way it fits my Mazda but the magnet did not hold my phone. I have a basic mag safe case, but the magnetic holder of the item fits inside the mag safe ring. With a standard case it just does not hold. (My bedside phone charger has no issue holding the phone in this case.) Anyway- I just swapped out the phone holder from another phone, so I am no longer using the magnet part, and am very happy with the result…still looks clean and holds well. I would recommend the design just not the magnetic one.

Review: Likes: easy to install out of the box. It doesn’t impede the flasher buttons. It securely holds my phone in place.Dislikes: on cold days it seems a bit sluggish when activated.I almost returned this item when I first received it. Maybe I wasnt paying attention but I didn’t know it was battery operated and had to be charged before use. Once I got over that I fell in love with it. I’ve had it almost a month and I’ve only charged it once. It does come with a USB cord for charging. I highly recommend this product.Fyi, it’s made to fit the mazda cx5 .
