Customers say

Customers find the phone works well for seniors, with good battery life between charges and big buttons that are easy to operate. However, the functionality receives mixed feedback, with some reporting it stops working after 30 days. Moreover, the sound quality and cell reception get mixed reviews – while some find it clear to hear and have good reception, others report extremely low volume and poor cell service. Additionally, customers disagree on the phone’s ease of use and value for money, with some finding it simple to use while others say it’s more difficult to operate, and some consider it worth the price while others find it expensive.

Title: Great phone if you don’t want the thirst trap in your pocket.
Review: What a win! A phone that calls and texts instead of selling every piece of my internet history to the highest bidder in order to fill my life with ads and porn. Let’s go! This phone is easy to set up, easy to use, and so far, the call quality has been just as good as my old Verizon phone. The battery is lasts forever. The only thing that is taking some getting used to is the old-school texting format. And the fact that the “ok” button is not in the center of the directional pad (why in the world would that not be the case). Thanks for a great product Jitterbug. Helping me take back my life!

Title: For those who only want to make voice calls
Review: The perfect phone for a senior who only wants to make voice calls. My wife will not use smart phones, I should know I bought her three over the years and they sit in a box. This flip phone has good voice quality, looks great, and for her its super simple to use. I should have purchased it years ago. Great value for the money.

Title: Bought for a friend.
Review: I got this phone for an older gentleman that doesn’t know much about how to run a phone. I think the phone is overall great. But when I was setting it up for him, it was difficult. I was doing it online to save the $5. (They tell you, you can save 5$ if u do it online) well, it didn’t work so it told me I needed to call customer service. That was also a pain and it didn’t go very smoothly. I couldn’t imagine a older person trying to set this up by themselves. I’m 27, if that means anything. But overall, we finally got it set up and he can use it fairly easy.

Title: Complete Disaster for Elderly Users – AVOID This Phone!
Review: Complete Disaster for Elderly Users – AVOID This Phone!I regret upgrading my 92-year-old mother’s flip phone to this “new and improved” version. The previous model worked perfectly for her—she could simply open the phone and it would ask, “Who do you want to call?” She would say a name, it would confirm, and then dial. Simple and effective, exactly what she needed. This “upgrade” is a nightmare.Instead of keeping the user-friendly, straightforward design, this phone now tries to force the use of Alexa as a “smart” assistant. The setup process alone is a maze. You have to link the phone to an Amazon account, then connect it to the Alexa Lively Skill, log into Lively, name the phone, and then go back to the phone and finish the linking. Even after completing all these steps, the Alexa skill might work some of the time, but only if you give a convoluted command like, “Alexa, ask Lively to call…” and then finally say the name. This is beyond frustrating for a tech-averse elderly person! This phone is supposed to be designed for people who don’t want, or cannot deal with, complicated technology. But it’s riddled with issues. After spending three hours on the phone with Lively tech support, I managed to get it working… for about 10 minutes. Then it inexplicably stopped. I called support again, and we had to unlink and relink everything. It worked—for a short time—only to stop again. This phone is absolutely unreliable. To make matters worse, when we tried to revert back to her old phone, we learned that Lively no longer supports it! So now we’re stuck with a phone that is essentially unusable for my mother, who can barely see or operate a regular smartphone. If you are considering this phone for a senior, especially someone with visual impairments or minimal tech experience, DO NOT buy it. It’s not just frustrating; it’s completely unfit for the purpose it’s marketed for. This phone is a waste of time, and I regret the decision to upgrade.Avoid at all costs if you care about functionality and simplicity!

Title: Easy to use
Review: My grandma is 86 and still very active and is always out and about! She had a lower level smart phone that she absolutely hated and would always leave home without leaving me worried about me or my grandpa getting in touch with her. I surprised her with this phone and knew she’d love the color and it would make her phone easy to find!! SHE LOVES THIS PHONE!!!! Now I have peace of mind because she never goes anywhere without her phone and I get notifications when she leaves her house and gets back home and I can see her location!! My grandma loves the simplicity of the phone and we love that she doesn’t have internet access or apps on the phone so there’s no confusion. The phone was also very easy to set up. I will say with location services it is a bit delayed on updating me when she gets home. For example I spoke to her on the phone when she had just gotten home and then got the location update an hour or two later so it’s not a 100% perfect system. I also got the red carrying belt clip case for her phone and she loves the bright color of it too and that she can discreetly have the phone tucked away

Title: Manage your expectations.
Review: Probably fine for seniors who have limited skills with devices but here are my issues. Battery life is trash and the user interface does not default to top of main menu when phone is closed and opened later. Additionally, there does not appear to be a way to receive alerts for text messages besides the phone vibrating, and connecting to Bluetooth devices is an ordeal. Also I recommend avoiding the Lively service as their call quality leaves much to be desired.

Title: Easy to use phone and reliable service too
Review: Easy to use and set up! Got it for my uncle to make calls short texts and pics. It’s good enough for what he needs and with his fire tablet he has what he needs since he is disabled! He loves it because it is simple to use

Title: The Jitterbug 2 is a great phone for the cost.
Review: The Jitterbug 2 arrived even sooner than expected. With a little help it was set up in less than 1/2 hour.Sound is great, charged very quickly was very easy to use. Easy to connect to all of my contacts, and the other features offered. It fits very comfortably in my hand, and with the bright red finish, I am certain I will not be misplacing it.
