Works great! You insert an sdxs card (not included) and it stores photos on said card for download to phone/device w/card slot. Records photos and/or video. Time lapse, timed or constant w/motion trigger.Since it is in my yard, I do not need any subscription to see photos stored on the card or live view via my phone. If this camera were out in the wild far away from home I suppose you need a subscription to live/card view but you could wait and visit, then download stored images from the card to your phone, laptop or device. It uses eight batteries but you can buy a solar panel and/or rechargeable batteries. Been up for four days, recorded lots of hot lawn care action and deer and batteries are at 87 percent.Deer were eating my roses and lilies and now I know it is “the twins” who arrive each morning around 4:23am. I hate and yet feel sorry for them. If only they would wander into the woods come hunting season. Was easy (bluetooth) to set up and you can set up a password so neighbors can’t watch the SOBs who visit the “buffet” laid out for them. I named my camera DEER because you can’t name the camera anything more than four characters.

Rugged and easy to use wildlife cam with only a couple of issues – UPDATED minus 1 star for support
FINAL UPDATE: I reached out again for support and they had not seen my latest response. After finding it, they diagnosed that the micro SD card and adapter could be causing the issue and recommended a specific SD card. I followed their instructions and the camera is now capturin quality video without issue. The Wifi/Bluetooth funciton with the iOS app is also working very well now. I updated to 5 stars because of all the good points at this price point. Bottom line, get a standard size, high quality SD card and you should be able to enjoy this quality camera.UPDATE: The seller/manufacturer responded to the problems I mentioned and started to try to support me by either correcting the problems or replacing the camera. However, once I followed their instructions and provided proof, they’ve stopped responding. I’m lowering my rating to 3 stars since I the praise I gave is still valid, but the support is basically non-responsive. So as long as you don’t have any issues, it’s ok, but if you do, good luck.I’ve owned a few wildlife cameras over the last 10 years. I enjoy to catch the local deer, fox, and other animals on video and share them with friends.I recently purchased this brand because my prior unit had developed a problem with SD card slot.I was pleasantly surprised at the pricing for the features it has.Overall, I’m very happy with the build quality and menu functions…. probably the most solid case I’ve had on one of these and the easiest to use menu for settings. The battery pack is also very solid and you can tell your batteries aren’t going to get wet or humid the way it’s built. I’ve used it to capture a local fox family that just had kits and it’s been great to be able to see that up close.Two criticisms I have:One is that the wifi/bluetooth functionality to download to their app on a smartphone seems to be sluggish and can get stuck/hung when there’s a large number of items to transfer (say over 5 or 6 video/photos). I was very close to the camera so I don’t think distance was the issue.. sometimes it works but slow, other times it gets stuck and just sits there. So I end up removing the SD card and bringing it inside to my computer to download images.The other things I’m noticing is that the videos it makes seem to hang pauses in them where the subject in motion freezes for several frames and then is moving again. I’m not sure why that is and may contact the manufacturer for support.Still, overall the most rugged, easy to use camera I’ve had and it is definitely picking up what I want to capture.

Fine Optics, the App needs some improvements
Let me start off by saying that the optics seem great (to my unsophisticated eye). I’ve only used it for nighttime captures of raccoons stealing bird food.I bought a 128GB SD card for $22. For my needs, 128GB is way overkill. I haven’t even used 2% of the memory, but then again, I check the activity daily.I bought a DC converter for $9 to power this camera. This has worked out well. Other reviewers had talked about this camera drains batteries very quickly, especially when using the infrared night vision.There is no sense of a video zoom built into the camera – maybe more expensive cameras have this feature. The only zoom available is from a 3rd party App running on your device after a download of the video file.The “WiFi” that comes with this camera can be confusing. The camera’s Wifi is *NOT* the same as the WiFi that is probably in your house – the 2 are very different, distinct and incompatible. In order to attach my Android phone to this “camera’s WiFi”, the automated process first disconnects your phone from the house’s WiFi and then connects your phone to the camera’s WiFi. Once connected, you can see the camera’s view, look at/change the camera’s setting and see all of the photos/videos stored on the camera. However, you can NOT use your house’s WiFi while connected to the camera’s, and vice-versa. Once you disconnect from the camera’s Wifi, my phone automatically re-connects to my house’s WiFi.The App that you must download onto you phone is adequate, at best. Three things that could easily be improved are:1) When the camera auto-plays videos, the order that you see them is latest-to-earliest, which is exactly the reverse order of when these video were taken (earliest-to-latest).2) When downloading or viewing the videos, the camera pauses at various times to allow the download to “catch up”. There shouldn’t be pause during download because the camera should be idle.3) It appears that the camera’s App significantly drains my phone’s battery, even after I disconnect the camera. The only solution for this is to manually stop the camera’s App that running on my phone.There are time gaps of several seconds between where one video ends and the next one begins. I assume this has something to do with the camera writing the video to the memory card. I understand, but wold be great if this could be improved.Averaging all of the above – 4 stars. Give it 5 stars for video and 3 stars for the App and confusing WiFi.
