Great allrounder fitness watch
I had plenty of fitness watches over the last years from cheap Fitbits to ultra-expensive Garmin Fenix and Apple Ultra. I like big screen watches because I can see easily a lot of information at once at a font/digit size which is actually readable. The Fenix I owned had too many functions I never used and the screen real estate was not satisfying to me, and the damn weight. The Apple Watch Ultra is a solid watch but doesn’t do anything really well. As a fitness /wellness watch it is lackluster and the smart watch functions feel half-baked on a screen size that is too small. Couldn’t read anything without my reading glasses. The Venue X1 is perfect for me. I have big arms and wrists so the watch looks normal. The fitness/wellness functions are on-par with the high end Garmin watches and superior to anything Apple has on their watches. The screen real estate is perfect for me. The Amoled screen is gorgeous and very bright. I don’t need the always on function so my battery life is 6-7 days with heavy fitness use. That’s so much better than the Apple Ultra which gets barely 2 days with heavy use. I also very much appreciate it light weight. Who came up with the hideous idea that solid and rugged needs to be super heavy. The slim profile and light-weight of the X1 is nice if you use it as your daily driver and workout a lot. You almost forget that you wear it. The Apple Ultra and Fenix are way too heavy and thick and feel uncomfortable when moving your arm a lot. They also get stuck on gym equipment (handlebars, grips and wrist bands). Getting notification pushed to the watch is all what I really need as smart options. I don’t care for music, cell connectivity wallet fucntion etc. I have my phone anyway always with me and the small screen of most watches make most smart functions obsolete. Price is a bit steep but I hope it will serve me well for a few years. I hope that Garmin will provide frequent updates for a couple of years as this $800 watch deserves. I wish that there were more watch faces and ways to change certain fields easily. The phone app seems not to support this in an easy to understand way. Sleep tracking is fantastic and so much better than the basic one from Apple.

The battery is THE ONLY DRAWBACK to this watch. I get about 3 days with always on using glance pro watch face. Otherwise the thing is amazing. It does everything a fenix 8 and the garmin 1050 computer does all I one package. In know that is a bold statement and I still use my 1050 on outdoor ride. For in-ride visuals only. Okay, maybe the price is steep but if you are buying at this level then it can maybe be overlooked. Still, to each their own but for me, fantastic watch. Especially to have this display without the bulk of an Epix or fenix

Sleek yet bold
Even though the shipment stated 2 days, I received it the next day after ordering. When I first got it, I was somewhat taken back and unimpressed. It’s so thin and light and the band felt so fragile. Didn’t have much substance to it. But I wore it for a couple of days and ended up liking it more. Great looking watch. I do not like the equipped band because it’s too small to pull over my wrist and had to unhook it. Once on my wrist and then trying to fit the medal piece into the loop on the other end of the band with one hand, was a pain. So I ordered the silicon replacement band the same day I received this watch. If you have big hands you will struggle to pull this watch over your wrist and the clip will pop through the bracket and you’ll have to use one hand to put it through the clasp. Although I am into fitness, I wont be using this watch for such. Count my steps and see my heart rate that’s it, weather, messages and notifications. I got the watch because I like watches and I liked the way the Venu X1 looked. It was advertised as the biggest screen Garmin had made to date. This was appealing as I like bigger watches. I have 3 other Garmin devices. This watch is super light. While wearing it around my house I forgot I had it on. As far as battery, 8/9 days is plenty enough for me, as I wont using the features that could drain the battery. My Apple Ultra gets about 3 days and my Apple 10 a little over a day. It’s got a nice big face that complements my wrist well. Small wristers beware. The watch is very new so not many 3rd party options yet, like a screen protector or other bands. The sapphire screen should hold up well to strenuous activities. There are several watch face options and you can change them as well as the color scheme. I like the preinstalled stock screen and I will stick with that one. This is definitely a keeper and I’m glad I bought it. When I get some extra money I may get the moss colored Venu X1 and band.

too expensive
it is nice, the overall plus is how thin it is compared to any smartwatch out there but too expensive for what it offers, battery life is marginal compared to other garmins but compared to smart watches like samsung or apple watch is better.if possible will recomend buying fenix 8 instead. you get much more for the money

Love it, horrible battery
So, far, as it’s only been a couple of weeks, I love it. Navigating it is a bit more intuitive than the previous Garmin watches I have owned (several). This one however, is. missing something that normally Garmin does in Spades. The battery sucks. But, I kind of expected that, it is so thin and so light, it had to fall down there. To me, the tradeoff is fine.

Fenix X1
Watch is great. I’ve had tons of Garmin watches in the past. Usually stick with my Fenix. But this thing can damn near do everything the Fenix could. Yes you don’t get the same battery life but you get 8-9 days. If your coming from apple get this because it’s the same form factor but feels 10x better on the wrist. I use it for golf and it is absolutely beautiful especially when you use the Garmin golf app. Would definitely recommend.

My third Garmin and this one is easily the best
I upgraded from the FR965 and this thing is amazing. So much lighter and the watch face is so bright and clear and has all the features, and controls needed. Also has the same golf features as the S70. I am going to replace the band as it is made of fabric and gets wet from sweat and in the shower.

Montre Garmin très légère. La Colle autour de la vitre est visible ce qui est très dommage pour une montre de ce prix . L’assemblage est de piètre qualité ainsi que les matériaux (plastique).

Wanted to like it but this thing is just way too big for small wrists. Looks like you are trying to strap and ipad to your arm, it looks stupid.

It was already used when delivered. Highly disappointed.
