Customers say

Customers find the doorbell’s video quality excellent, with crystal-clear visuals and a head-to-toe view. The device works well as a doorbell and is easy to set up and use, with good camera quality and reliable performance. The battery life receives mixed feedback – while some say it’s excellent, others report it dies quickly. Customers disagree on the value for money, with some considering it a worthwhile investment for home security while others find it overpriced. Motion detection and connectivity also receive mixed reviews – while some praise the motion detection, others report it misses 80% of movements, and while some devices connect seamlessly to networks, others lose WiFi connection.

10 reviews for Ring Battery Doorbell Plus (newest model) | Head-to-Toe HD+ Video, motion detection & alerts, and Two-Way Talk

See Everything with the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus
I’ve been using the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus (2023 release) for a few weeks, and it’s been a fantastic upgrade for my home security. The Head-to-Toe HD+ Video in 1536p gives a crystal-clear, wide view—66% taller than the older Ring Video Doorbell 2nd Gen—so I can see visitors and packages from top to bottom. The Color Night Vision is a game-changer, letting me spot details even in low light, like when the delivery guy drops off a package after dark. Setup was a breeze; I connected it to Wi-Fi through the Ring app and mounted it with the included tools in under 15 minutes, no hardwiring needed thanks to the Quick Release Battery Pack. The motion detection with customizable zones is super handy, alerting me to people or packages while ignoring passing cars after some tweaking in the app. The Two-Way Talk feature lets me chat with visitors or scare off porch pirates from my phone, and the Quick Replies are great for when I’m busy. With a Ring Home subscription, I get Package Alerts and video storage for up to 180 days, which is worth it for reviewing footage, though you can still use Live View and real-time alerts without it. Some users mention battery life varies (mine’s lasted about a month with moderate use), and occasional Wi-Fi drops can happen, but I’ve had no major issues. For anyone wanting a sharp, reliable video doorbell, this Ring model is a solid choice! Adjust motion settings and check Wi-Fi strength for best performance.

Great Camera Quality, Customizable Notifications, Easy to Install
I debated for a long time about which door camera to get, and after reading a ton of reviews, I decided on this Ring Doorbell Camera. I wanted the Head-To-Toe one so I could see the ground for packages. It not only comes with super easy set-up instructions, but it also comes with a AA battery and charging station. ALSO WORKS WITH ALEXA. When someone rings the doorbell Alexa will notify you.Box: In the box is the camera, instructions for set-up and how to add your device to the mobile Ring App. It also comes with an extra battery for charging the camera, extra screws, and a wedge to lower the angle of the camera (it can tilt down or to the side depending on your space).Mobile App: The mobile Ring app is user friendly and easy to navigate. You can see all of your doorbell history free for 30 days (after that, it is $4.99 a month for the basic subscription). It is CHEAPER to pay for a year than to pay monthly. I chose the basic subscription because I only have one device and opted out of needing certain features (which is a personal choice). The layout of the app is clear and easy to understand and you can change the language.Camera/SoundQuality: The camera quality is excellent. It’s very clear even at night. Camera quality is one of the first things to look for when deciding on a camera and I have ZERO complaints so far. The video quality is just as good as pictures and when talking to someone, the sound is clear and easy to understand.I love being able to talk to people at the door from the app.Overall, I LOVE this camera. Idk why I waited this long to get it. 10/10 Recommend!!

    Love My Ring Items
I’m finding that Ring builds quality items. They are what they are advertised to be, easy to instal, and provide great security. Picture quality is great, and this works expecially well with their chime.

    Just What I Wanted
I am happy with this product. It works very well on an apartment door. However, the ring is loud where the device is mounted but it is not that loud in the apartment. I don’t want the ring to be very loud in the hallway so I lowered it and have just purchased a RING Chime for inside, which I have not received yet. I also purchased an extra battery so I can put a battery in immediately when the one in the RING needs recharging. The video is good. If you have a poor wifi connection, though, you may not get food video. I can see the images in the video much clearer on my iPad; they are small on my iPhone (as expected).

Skip the cheaper basic doorbell, get this instead!
I had the lower-cost Ring Doorbell for about a year now, and the one thing I hated the most about it was that to charge the battery, you had to remove THE ENTIRE DOORBELL. I had to remove the doorbell once a month… until lately when something started causing the doorbell to drain to 0-percent in about 7-8 days. This is not good and such a hassle to have to recharge the doorbell when charging time takes hours! I thought at first that with the optional “hardwired kit” it this wouldn’t be a problem, but the hardwire kit isn’t even to power the unit at all – it only trickle charges it! So if your doorbell is using more power than the trickle charge can put back in, then it’s pointless.I dealt with that for about a month more until Amazon had their Prime Deals event, and when I saw that the more expensive Ring Battery Doorbell Plus was on sale, I bought it.So here I am with a newer, more expensive, higher model Ring Battery Doorbell Plus. The mounting holes for the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus are different from the Ring Doorbell, I don’t know why they couldn’t keep something standard but apparently, all of the various doorbell versions have their own different mounting pattern. Once I got past this hurdle, the rest of the installation was easy and quick. With the new Ring Battery Doorbell Plus, I immediately gained two good features: first, the camera view was much taller, they were serious when they said it has a “floor to ceiling” view as I can see much more with the newer doorbell – great for when I have deliveries. Second: the removable battery just fixes the biggest flaw of my original Ring Doorbell. I bought a second battery just in case after having such a bad time with the original doorbell, but it seems like the Battery Doorbell Plus is much more efficient with the power, as I have had it installed for a couple of months now and the lowest I saw the battery dip down to was 87%. Picture quality is very good throughout the day, even in the evening with the porch lamp on I can see visitor faces clearly and not blown out like other cameras. So if you’re looking for your first Ring doorbell, do not get the cheapest $50 version – do yourself a favor and go right to the Battery Doorbell Plus, it is worth the higher price and you don’t have to deal with the shortcomings of the cheaper, basic version

Swapped out a standard Ring doorbell for the plus model. Very easy to install. And works great. Didn’t have to do anything apart from removing the old one and adding the new one. Much better field of view now. Can see packages.

great solid unit easy to use works well

  9. TC

It was easy to install and get working. The product works well and has a great viewing angle for both people and parcels. It has gone offline once for no reason; however, I can live with that if it’s only once. One improvement would be to fix the geofence bugs. It doesn’t work consistently and notifies me that I am at the door when I am leaving the house, which is annoying. I have mine hooked up to Chime Pro and have subscribed to the Protect plan. I would buy it again.

Excellent product. Battery lasts a couple of months. Battery is easy to charge and charges in a few hours.
