   Your new double-duty TV & Computer monitor!
   This is a tremendous monitor. not only does it have a great color gamut and presents your desktop display clearly, brightly, and at a lovely size (32-inch 4k UHD), but it comes with a remote for any of your online streaming needs as well. If you have ever wanted to have your monitor do double duty as computer monitor and TV, this is a fantastic addition. Wish I had this back in my college dormroom days. Beyond that, the attachable/built-in camera works extremely well and the speakers that are built in are passable for normal computer use (i.e. watching a YouTube or to hear people on Zoon, etc., but if you want big robust sound, or for gaming purposes, you’ll still want external speakers). Good rotation and strong support with the included mount, but can also connect to any VESA mount you may already have. In all, I’m most pleased that this really cleaned up my desk as I was able to remove speakers, microphone, and webcam and consolidate down to this one very attractive monitor.If I have to find a gripe about this I’ll note that the viewing angles on this are not great. If you get more than 45-degrees to one side of the monitor the colors begin to look washed out and text becomes tough to read. On the other hand, that may provide a certain sense of privacy whilst working on this monitor – it really boils down to what it is you are trying to achieve with it. Other than that, setup is a little funky in that you will need to get things going with the SmartThings app on your phone before you can simply see your computer screen – so while different and a bit annoying in the moment, it took a couple of minutes and I was up and running as well as ready to start connecting the monitor to Netflix and so forth.In all, this is a great monitor. If you already have a Samsung smart TV, this will be very familiar to you. The display technology is strong, and the internal intelligence is very good as well. I only wish I had this back in those early days where my computer was my TV as this would have been perfect! For us, our office is also a guest bedroom, so now when guests stay they can just use the monitor as their TV which is a great use of the double-duty that this monitor can do as well. If you have a situation like that, you really can’t beat this!

   A Smart Display For Computer, TV, and Gaming
   The Samsung 32” M8 Smart Monitor is a versatile all-in-one display that works beautifully as a computer monitor, smart TV, and even a casual gaming hub. The 4K resolution delivers sharp and vibrant visuals, and I was impressed with how well it matched my laptop’s colors without any manual calibration. Features like Eye Saver Mode and the solar-powered remote add thoughtful touches that make everyday use easier.As a smart TV, the M8 comes loaded with apps and offers free access to Samsung TV Plus. I especially liked the way it upscales lower-resolution content, making movies and shows look much closer to true 4K. The voice enhancement feature is another plus, ensuring dialogue stays clear even in noisy rooms. For gaming, the Samsung Gaming Hub lets you stream popular titles without needing a separate console, and performance has been smooth.Design-wise, the monitor is sleek, adjustable, and feels solidly built. The detachable webcam is convenient for video calls, and the stand is sturdy. My only real complaint is the built-in speakers, which sound fine for casual use but lack bass. Adding an external soundbar or speakers may be needed, depending on your preference. Since the monitor does not have an HDMI ARC or optical port, I connected the monitor to a pair of external speakers wirelessly. This has made a big difference.Overall, the Samsung M8 is a strong value for those who want one device that covers multiple needs. It combines sharp picture quality, smart features, and a thoughtful design into a single, reliable package. While the audio could be better, the strengths far outweigh this drawback, and I can confidently recommend it.

   Great for Dorm Life, But Maybe Not for Hardcore Users
   To start off, the Samsung M8 Smart Monitor is a stylish and unique 32-inch 4K display that blends the functionality of a Monitor and a Smart TV into one sleek setup. I really like how easily it shifts between productivity and entertainment, especially in this era where more people are working remote, and even playing games at the desk instead of a couch. With built-in apps like Netflix and Samsung TV Plus, plus a detachable SlimFit webcam with face tracking, it’s clearly designed for convenience and being an all in one solution.The display offers good contrast, decent brightness up to 400 nits, and fairly wide sRGB coverage, making it great for casual tasks and streaming. It also features smart home controls, including a 3D Map View and energy usage tracking, which adds a modern, connected feel. If you’re heading to college and need something that works as both a computer monitor and a TV, this is a great all-in-one pick, especially with the included remote that helps it function more like a TV.That said, the M8 isn’t ideal for serious gaming or creative professionals. You can game on it, but with its 60 Hz refresh rate, it’s better suited to console gaming than high frame rate PC titles. Viewing angles are fine head-on, but not great for group viewing. The menus feel a little slow, but they get the job done. The 1080p webcam works, though colors looked slightly off in my experience, they work just fine for Zoom or Teams, but nothing special. The built-in speakers were probably the most underwhelming piece, especially for something that’s also marketed as a TV. And with limited port options, adding external audio isn’t very straightforward. Bluetooth is an option, but it comes with its own quirks.Overall, the M8 makes a lot of sense for everyday users who value convenience, especially students or anyone in a small living space like a dorm. However, if you’re focused on performance or creative accuracy, it may fall short, and for the price, that’s something worth considering.
