Disapointed
The vizio m55 TV worked well until a firmware update made the TV slow to respond to the remote control. Also the volume function malfunctions. Vizio will not let me install the old firmware and suggested I take it to a local repair shop. Visio is aware that their firmware makes this model frustrating to use. Can a repair shop fix a firmware issue? Are they trying to make televisions obsolete to sell more product. My next TV will be a TCL.I am very disappointed with vizio’s product and support.

Avoid – banding and flickering
Setup is easy and Initial picture quality is good and sound is ok, the picture quickly degraded. Within 3 weeks, returned 2 sets because of inconsistent and obvious vertical color banding being visible while watching normal broadcast content, especially when viewing lighter backgrounds. I picked up a 3rd set and Vizio support said this is “normal and acceptable variation”. It’s not and now after another week, the 3rd set is plagued by additional dead/dying pixels, resulting in the entire bottom row flickering like a string of christmas lights on fast pulse. Frustrated and disappointed and cannot recommend Vizio for their product or support.

Built-in SmartCast is a bust
SmartCast started crapping out within a few months. Now it doesn’t load at all no matter how many times we reset the TV. Luckily we can access and use the Amazon Fire Stick connected to the TV.
