A Must-Have Accessory While Towing a Trailer.
Bought this because my travel trailer was pre-wired for the Furrion backup cameras and included a sharkfin mount pre-installed. I’ve always had trouble seeing where I am backing up but this cures this problem. The package arrived and I went about installing the camera. First, I checked the monitor/camera pairing with the monitor power cable (it included a pigtail for the camera power cord). Paired perfectly! Picture was crystal clear. Next, I removed the cover plate to the pre-installed shark-fin mount on the back wall of the trailer, plugged the camera wire into the pre-wired power jack dongle, and …… nothing. No power. Checked voltage and there was power there, but the camera didn’t function. Hmmm! So I pulled the shark-fin mount and discovered the power dongle had been wired in reverse (hot [red wire] to ground [white wire]; ground [black wire] to hot [green wire]). On RVs, the trailer’s white wire is the ground and the green wire is the power for the running lights. Rewired the dongle so it was correct, powered on the running lights and checked the camera. Success! Camera worked just fine! Remounted everything, installed the camera and everything was fine. The camera also has a microphone and the monitor a speaker so if someone is guiding you while backing into a slot, you can hear their instructions clearly. A very nice touch, indeed! While towing, I used it as a rear-view “mirror” that worked day and night (the camera also has night vision and IR lights for illumination). Nice! The running lights must be on for the camera to function. You can turn your headlights on to activate the trailer’s running lights. This is essential with the GM automatic headlight systems. But, if you have factory-installed fog lamps, turn them on and your trailer running lights will turn on as well. The camera works just fine. If you use the camera to assist with passing or lane changes remember thing are closer than they appear, so be sure to check your mirrors as well to check the clearance of the back of the trailer with the passed vehicle. The monitor and mirrors compliment each other for clearance issues. All in all, an excellent and very useful accessory for any trailer owner.Highly recommend!

Using as Rearview Mirror and for Backing Up. Does a Good Job at Both. No More Blind Spot!
UPDATE 11/1/2020: I have used this for several months and trips. It has performed without any problem. I really like using it as a rear view mirror. Can clearly see when another driver is tailgating me, especially small cars that can hide behind the trailer. It makes backing into a back-in campsite very easy; the guidelines let me know when I am lined up straight, no more jockeying with wife waving one way or the other to get into the campsite. No more swiveling my head right and left to look in the side mirrors, no blind spots. Oh what a joy it is!Feb. 15, 2020: I bought this unit because the trailer was prewired for it. I wanted this camera to be on so I could use it as a rear view mirror while traveling so rewired the camera to a waterproof switch next to the batteries. Now I can use it when traveling without having to turn the vehicle/trailer running lights on. The picture is clear. The description says it has infrared for night time but so far this is not working for me, the image is just black; manual says it will be in black/white when using the infrared. I will adjust the brightness/contrast to see if that solves the issue. It would be easy to install if connecting to the trailer clearance lights if not already prewired by the manufacturer. Mine was a little more complicated as I needed to run a new wire from the battery bank to the location on the trailer rear panel. Due to foam insulation I had to run the wire inside the cabinets, I used surface wire conduits to do so. Took a while but I have a clean install and it works the way I want it to.I recommend this device even if it is on the expensive side; I think it could be half the price. You can get side cameras but I would recommend the larger display if you go that route as they are picture-in-picture.

Great backup camera for TT
I bought this for our new Surveyor Travel Trailer. Our trailer came pre-wired so setup/install was a snap. On my trailer, it does require you to turn on the lights in my truck to provide power to the camera. Its the way the trailer is wired not the camera.Anyhow, this camera does include navigation lines like you have in a regular car backup camera. The video is clear.BONUS: It includes a speaker/mic so if you have someone helping you backup into a tight spot, they can talk to you through the camera. The mic actually works great. They don’t have to shout, just talk in a normal voice for you to hear them. I haven’t read the manual but so far my experience is its one way. I don’t think you can talk to them from the display or at least, I haven’t figured that out yet.

Essential Upgrade for RV Owners
The Furrion Vision S backup camera system has been a total game-changer for my RV. The 4.3” monitor is clear and easy to read, and the wireless connection stays strong even while driving. The wide-angle view and night vision make parking and reversing so much safer, even in low light. Installation was simple, and the waterproof design gives me confidence in any weather. Highly recommend for peace of mind on the road!

Camera and monitor rarely connect
This camera is awful overall. It may be easy to install and it does produce a clear picture when it works, but it rarely works. 99% of the time it goes to “No signal”. Doesn’t seem to matter if we’re moving or parked, in a wooded area or clear area, the display just always says “No signal”. Would highly recommend against buying this product.

We purchased the Furrion back up camera system over a year ago and are very impressed with it . I have owned both the 7” and the 4.3” monitors . There are so many things to like about the furrion camera system but the main thing is it works all the time . We have yet you loose connection between the monitor and the cameras well using it . This is by far the most refined camera system on the market . You may find other back-up cameras out there for a lower price or that claim better spec but trust me if you don’t wanna mess around , this is the back up camera system to go with .The camera system is expandable for up to four cameras if you have the 7” monitor , if you have the 4.3” it is for the back up camera only . As mentioned we upgraded to a 7” monitor and are now running furrion back up Cameras with the furrion side cameras . This has basically removed the need for my wife to attempt to guide me well backing up . This is a huge game changer because this was usually the only arrangements we would get into well camping ( “ I don’t know what all your flaying arms mean”:) ) the best part is the camera has a micro phone so if need she can talk to me through the camera !The night vision on these camera is also amazing which is great for those days where you arrive at the camp site after dark . The monitor is touch screen easy to use and includes a variety of mounting solutions. The picture is very good and there is basically zero lag time .Install is super easy , if your camper is prepped for a furrion camera ( most campers after 2018 are ) all you will have to do is remove the four small screw from the camera cover on the “ shark fin prep cover “ , plug in the camera to the connection behind the cover , mount the camera where your prep cover was . That’s it ! your done , go plug the camera into your truck and it should work … if not you just need to running the pairing option in the manual .If your trailer is not prep it will take you about an hour to install . I won’t go into detail as there are many options amd way to do it . Mine was not prep so I can say it’s honestly an easy 1 hour diy .If you have small children this really gives an added value of safety knowing a kid is not directly behind your trailer .Honestly I would recommend this to anyone with a travel trailer , rv or motor home . It just takes all the stress out of backing up a trailer .

Amazon Customer –
Purchased this Observation System to use on our Coleman Travel Trailer which had the model – FRCBRKT-BL already installed . It is really as easy as written “plug & play”. Product was delivered within two days by Amazon. After reading manual, we removed the screws for the camera, plugged the male end into the receptacle wired into trailer (camera light went on immediately) replaced the camera, screwed the 4 screws back in, tilted the camera, adjusted antenna (parrallel with back wall of trailer AND that was it for the camera. Then attached the monitor into cigarette lighter and pressed power button. Everything worked — even a clear coloured view, heard voice from the camera area (to monitor). The only thing was that it was not a touch screen as described in the first advertising bullet by Amazon AND the screen is much smaller than expected. (We would have ordered the 5″ had we known about these two features). However, still pleased that we installed it ourselves with no upsets! Impressed with this Furrion product. Still would like a “larger” “touch screen”!! Question — can this 4.3″ non touch screen be changed at this point? H & S

The camera system works great on my double wide skidoo trailer and was easy to install. It allows me to backup the trailer in the driveway by myself and to check on trailing vehicles on the highway.

My Rockwood 2109S came factory prepped for a Furrion system. The bracket and wiring was all there. Installation was very very easy, remove 4 screws plug in a wire, place camera.install 4 screws. The kit came with the camera mounted an extra FRCBRKT-BL bracket, had to remove the camera from it to install. Also there is another power wire in the kit.Camera is clear and do not experience any “drop outs”, signal strength is good 2 to 3 bars out of 4. Trailer is wired so that I have to have marker lights on to power camera. System is priceless for backing unit up. The sound feature being able to hear helper at rear of unit is awesome! Being able to see behind you as you drive is also nice, would be nice if you could see a bit farther though. Very happy with system so far has exceeded my expectations.
